What Is Executive Presence, Really? Turning Cultura Into Your Leadership Brand

📆Sept 17 2026

⏰11-12pm CT

Introduction by: Erick Prospero Torres, Chief Ninja, Ninja Tropic Speaker: Aquiles Damiron-Alcantara, Founder and Principal Consultant, Unlearning Solutions, LLC

You know how the hardest-working person on a team often gets stuck being the go-to for tasks, while someone else gets pulled into the room where the real decisions happen? This session is about how you become the person leaders turn to when the stakes are highest, the trusted advisor, instead of the reliable technical contributor everyone leans on but overlooks. Latino professionals make up about 20 percent of the U.S. workforce but only about 5 percent of executive roles (HACE, 2026). Why? Are we less talented? Less driven? Of course not. The gap is not in ability or eff ort. In my research and practice with seniors leaders, I’ve found that it depends less on performance than on visibility. The problem is often not the quality of our work. It is how we deliver it, and whether the right people see it. And here's the part that matters for us as Latinos: a lot of what it takes, we already carry. Our culture formed us to build trust and real relationships. What our culture doesn't always give us permission to do is advocate for ourselves. Sé humilde, mi hijo, right? So we often do the most work and get seen the least. Come to this session and you'll leave knowing how to build the kind of executive presence that makes senior leaders, boards, and partners seek out your judgment, without pretending to be someone you're not.
